Carousel of progress in magic kingdom is one of the most famous and enjoyable magic kingdom attractions. It was opened in the year 1975. The basic theme of carousel of progress in magic kingdom has remained unchanged. There are totally six scenes and the audience is rotated around the six scenes with a mechanical set up.
The theatre building has one storey and a loft above. The loft is set up for the authorities to move. The theatre feature kaleidoscopic views in the earlier times which were removed after few years. The first two screens are the loading and unloading screens with back ground music for the people who have got carousel of progress tickets.
The entire theatre is set up to give an experience through different era and the technologies introduces during each period. The screens have a family headed by the father John who narrates and interacts with technological improvements. The four screens are set up in different seasons starting from spring followed by summer, fall and finally winter. The play starts in 1900, Valentine’s Day and it depicts the innovations of that era which includes gramophone, gas lamps and manual washing machines.
Each screen showcases an audio animatronic male dog figure which barks frequently and the audio animatronic figures of the family who try to calm down the dog and stop its interference. The second screen shows devices like sewing machine, homemade cooling devices, radio and these are set up in the 1920s period.
The third screen depicting 1940s is set up in a Halloween back drop and it introduces the technologies of dish washer, television and paint mixers. The final screen shows the family interacting with the latest technologies and it is set up with a Christmas back drop.
