Stitch’s great escape is a very different ride among the magic kingdom attractions in Disney magic kingdom. This is one of the magic kingdom attractions that look great!! The ride has a very interesting concept. The riders are recruited to the inter-galactic security system and their job is to transport the space criminals to a safe location.
There are two pre shows before you take the Stitch’s great escape in magic kingdom. These shows guide you about the ride and in specific the second show gives you the details about the transporting device which you have to use to transport the space criminals. S.I.R who was the robot in the “Alien Encounter” comes as a police officer in Stitch’s great escape and he forms the humor element with his funny lines. He is given a uniform and his facial features are unique. Skippy, the little space creature is retained as the pilot.
The show gets interesting as stitch creates trouble by bouncing on people. However the show is definitely not advisable for children as there is a lot of confusion and screaming around. Thus consider the above factors before you buy Stitch’s great escape tickets for your children. Though the earlier attraction “Alien Encounter” was redesigned as Stitch’s great escape in Disney magic kingdom only to make it less scary, the purpose is defeated. Only thing that has been changed is the stitch who is little menacing than the alien.
The show is just for five minutes and since it its new, you may have to wait in a long queue for Stitch’s great escape tickets. Therefore book the tickets online or get the FASTPASS. And remember that there is a minimum height requirement of 40 inches for the ride.
After the show, you are taken into the gift shop where you can buy the Stitch’s products. You can also dine at the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station which is nearby.
