If you are planning to drive down to experience different Disney recreations like driving here, just take a left from the toll plaza at Magic Kingdom and again a left near the Disney world where the speedway sign has been displayed. However, if you are willing to travel by Disney transportation, you can board the shuttle from the Richard Petty Driving Experience center.
The money paid for Richard Petty driving Experience tickets will not be refunded in case the experience is cancelled due to any sort of bad weather conditions. Hence it is recommended to call and confirm before visiting if the tracks are open for driving or else you would have to get it rescheduled.
The recreation attractions at RPDE consist of four different programs. There is proper reservation required for all of the below mentioned Disney recreations.
• Ride Along: This experience requires the passenger to be seated on a 2 seater stock car while the professional driver is driving at the speed of 145mph.
• Rookie Experience: This driving experience lasts for 3hours and gives you the opportunity to drive a race car for almost 8 laps. Of course you would be provided with proper instructions before driving. There are selected days on which you can take advantage of this driving experience.
• King’s Experience: You get drive on the oval speedway for 18 laps in two different sessions i.e. of 8 laps and then 10 laps. Even here all the required instructions would be provided. There are some particular days for this experience as well.
• Experience of a lifetime: You need to have a driver’s license to get this experience of driving for 30 laps which is done in three 10 lap sessions.
